Sepetember 2023 Registration Announcement

Dear Parents,

Good news! Unicoder's Fairfax campus is now open for registration. The new campus is conveniently located within walking distance to the city library and two shopping centers near the classroom. Additionally, within a 2-4 mile radius, there are several supermarkets including Great Wall, H Mart, Wegmans, Trader Joe's, Walmart, as well as Fair Oaks Mall and Costco. There are also many dining options nearby, such as Mama Chang, Starbucks, and more. We hope this new location will allow you to make more efficient use of your time while your children are in class, such as completing weekly grocery shopping or other errands.

We have adde more high-quality courses to our innovative curriculum, including "Kids Basic Website Design”, “Kids Beginner Robotics (Lego Prime)” and “Kids Beginner Robotics (Vex Competition Team)”. These interactive, hands-on courses are designed to spark creativity, instill technological aptitude, and inspire a passion for the limitless possibilities of STEAM.

Kids Basic Website Design

Course Objective:

The Kids Basic Website Design course aims to provide a foundational understanding of web design principles and basic coding for young learners. Throughout the course, students will learn to design, build, and publish their own personal website using user-friendly coding languages like HTML and CSS, , while also gaining awareness of online safety, privacy, and ethical use of digital platforms, particularly when interacting with social media. The course not only introduces them to the basic structure and elements of a website but also enhances their problem-solving and critical thinking skills. By the end of the course, students will have a live website under their own name domain, fostering a sense of accomplishment and a firsthand understanding of how the web works. Our ultimate goal is to spark a passion for technology and digital creativity, laying the groundwork for future exploration in web development and beyond, while instilling a strong foundation in safe online navigation and social media literacy.

Kids Beginner Robotics (Lego Prime)

Course Objective:

The objective of our Kids Beginner Robotics course, facilitated through the use of the LEGO Education SPIKE™ Prime Set, is to provide an exciting, hands-on introduction to the world of robotics for young learners. Students will be introduced to fundamental concepts such as mechanical design, programming, problem-solving, and teamwork. They will have the opportunity to build, program, and test their very own robots, igniting a passion for innovation and engineering. The overarching goal is to develop a foundational understanding of robotics that can be built upon in future learning, all while having a great deal of fun in an engaging, collaborative environment.

Kids Beginner Robotics (VEX IQ Competition)

Course Objective:

The goal of the Kids Beginner Robotics (VEX IQ Competition) is to provide an interactive and engaging introduction to robotics for children over the age of 10. Utilizing the VEX IQ competition set, the course aims to foster a foundational understanding of robotics, programming, mechanical design, problem-solving, and teamwork, as well as to give students the opportunity to participate in VEX Regional Competitions, where they will put their skills to the test against other teams, providing invaluable experiential learning and inspiring a lifelong love for robotics while having a great deal of fun. (Additional equipment and competition registration fees may apply.)

Lab time and Q&A Office Hours:

Sundays from 11am-12pm, we invite club members from all classes to experience the thrill of discovery in the UniCoder STEAM Kids Club lab and Q&A office hours to ask any questions to our coaches. Equipped with the most innovative educational technology tools and equipments, our lab provides the opportunity to experiment, innovate, and learn through play, turning abstract concepts into tangible experiences.

( there is one Sunday per month when there will be no class. This is to ensure regular maintenance of our equipment and facility, while also giving our team a chance to strategize and plan exciting new activities, and giving everyone time to enjoy long weekends with loved ones in observance of holidays. 'no-class’ Sundays will be updated in advance on the UniCoder STEAM Kids Club Calendar)


Membership Plan & Pricing:

Choose from two membership options:
STEAM Explorer: $169/month for one class per week.
STEAM Enthusiast: $229/month for two classes per week.
Payment is due on the first day of each month, with prorated fees available for mid-month registration.
Additionally, there is a $75 yearly registration fee.
