The Inaugural Gathering of UniCoders:
When Curiosity meets High-Tech Playground
What happens when young, innovative minds meet a playground full of cutting-edge technology? A blast of creativity, learning, and fun, that's what we experienced on July 9th at our first UniCoder lab meeting.
The UniCoder STEAM Kids Club Lab, serving as a futuristic playground, is designed to fuel our UniCoders' innovation, promote exploration, and enhance hands-on experiences, while fostering teamwork. It's a place where students from different courses come together, sharing their knowledge and interest, sparking brilliant ideas and project collaborations.
Our discussion of future lab activities lit up our UniCoders' eyes. We've planned a range of engaging experiences, from coding challenges and robotics workshops to game development sessions, digital art workshops, VR explorations, and more. With the promise of guest speakers, hackathons, and even field trips!
Our inaugural lab meeting was a phenomenal success! We kicked off the gathering with an ice-breaker activity, giving everyone a chance to meet and greet fellow UniCoders. Emphasizing the importance of mutual respect and responsibility, we read out the UniCoder STEAM Kids Club rules and expectations, creating a positive and collaborative environment for all.
Our coach, Kevin, conducted a tour of our lab, showcasing the wide array of equipment available. Each gadget was introduced with an explanation of its function and uses, sparking excitement among our young innovators. Safety, as our paramount priority, was also discussed extensively throughout the lab tour, ensuring each UniCoder understands the precautions necessary while handling the equipments.
Yet, the real magic happened when we opened the floor for our UniCoders to share their own visions for the club. Our brilliant young minds overflowed with entrepreneurial and innovative ideas. Some suggested fundraising campaigns, while others proposed a UniCoder online shop selling merchandise, from apparel and accessories to party supplies, toolboxes, stationaries, candies, stuffed animals, necklaces, household items, books, first aid kits, baking supplies, sports gears, and a lot more... A few ambitious UniCoders suggested transforming our club into a full-fledged school with multiple locations. Others dreamed of building their own UniCoder Cars, robots, computers, games, drones, and even 3D printers and other machines.
We’re so proud of our UniCoders! Listening to our young innovators was eye opening and super inspiring. It affirmed what we always believed - our UniCoders are more than just students; they are changemakers of the future. This is just the beginning of our collective journey, and we're excited to see where our UniCoders will lead us!
