Course Objective and Our Goal at UniCoder

The Kids Basic Website Design course aims to provide a foundational understanding of web design principles and basic coding for young learners. Throughout the course, students will learn to design, build, and publish their own personal website using user-friendly coding languages like HTML and CSS, , while also gaining awareness of online safety, privacy, and ethical use of digital platforms, particularly when interacting with social media. The course not only introduces them to the basic structure and elements of a website but also enhances their problem-solving and critical thinking skills. By the end of the course, students will have a live website under their own name domain, fostering a sense of accomplishment and a firsthand understanding of how the web works. Our ultimate goal is to spark a passion for technology and digital creativity, laying the groundwork for future exploration in web development and beyond, while instilling a strong foundation in safe online navigation and social media literacy.


Course Topics

Our Kids Basic Website Design course will comprehensively cover below topics, including but not limited to

  • Introduction to Web Design Basics:Understanding the internet and how websites work and an overview of website structure and design principles
  • Foundations of HTML (Hypertext Markup Language):Learning the basic HTML tags and their functions. Structuring web pages using HTML, Adding and formatting text, and Creating lists, tables, and forms
  • Introduction to CSS (Cascading Style Sheets): Basics of CSS for styling web pages, Implementing colors, fonts, and layout styles, and Understanding the box model and responsive design
  • Web Page Development and Navigation: Creating multi-page websites with navigation links, and Organizing website content and structure
  • Incorporating Media and Graphics: Adding images, videos, and audio to web pages, and Embedding external media and using alt attributes
  • Basic JavaScript for Interactive Websites: Introduction to JavaScript for dynamic content, and Simple scripts for user interaction and basic animations
  • Website Hosting and Domain Names: Understanding how to choose domain names, and Basics of web hosting and publishing a website
  • Online Safety and Digital Ethics: Learning about internet safety and responsible web browsing, and Understanding privacy concerns and ethical use of online content
  • Project Work – Building a Personal Website: Planning and creating a personal or hobby-related website, and Applying HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript skills
  • Website Review and Feedback: Peer reviews and constructive feedback on created websites, and Final touches and publishing the website online
