Basic Database Design 01

This class teaches students how to use MySQL, a popular relational database management system, to store and manage data. Students learn how to design databases, create tables and relationships between them, insert, update, and delete data, and retrieve information using SQL queries.


The class covers the following topics:

  • Introduction to Databases
  • Setting up MySQL
  • Basic SQL commands
  • Creating and Modifying Tables
  • Inserting, Updating and Deleting Data
  • Teach various methods of selecting data from tables
  • Discuss various built-in functions available in SQL
  • Teach how to join tables using various methods, such as INNER JOIN, LEFT JOIN, RIGHT JOIN, etc.
  • Subqueries and Temporary Tables
  • Project Time!

Requirements

The goal is to provide students with a solid foundation in database concepts and practical skills that can be applied to a variety of projects, such as building web applications, data analysis, and more.
